Jenggala Ceramic Class, Make A Pot

Learn how to make pattern on clay using “Nerikomi” (often refered to as “neriage” ) is a decorative process established in Japan that involves stacking color clay and then slicing through a cross section to reveal a pattern, which can then be used as an applied decoration. The end of result is an interesting piece for individuals who enjoy pattern and are drawn to the wet-clay stage of pottery making.

Through this technique you will learn to create some pattern using nerikomi and you can make your own functional tableware, vase, sculptures or anything the possibilities in ceramics are endless. This techniques is simple and straightforward, but requires a lot of attention to detail. You don’t have to be an expert to learn this technique since our instructor will guide you how to create it.
