In honor of the rich Indonesian craft of batik, Jenggala has created the Batik Collection. Our talented craftsmen use small knives and chisels to delicately engrave the detailed Kawung batik motif, just like traditional batik artists using the wax resist dyeing technique on fabric. The fine batik design is wrapped around the item to bring the pattern to life. To accentuate the details a colored cobalt oxide wash is applied to the motif to create a shading effect very similar to the original pattern on cloth. Made from stoneware, this elegant bowl has a wide rim to frame the contents and sized for soups, salads, desserts and also a medium sized serving bowl.
